I Can’t Seem to Generate Real Content Anymore
Fitting as a first post on my blog, is this short rant about content.
I used to have the patience to sit my ass down and generate a proper blog post with a message and do some background research. Something like this one. These days, my attention span allows me only to share a link or post a picture at best.
This is not a rant about the A.D.D. generation and how we’ve become impatient with everything.
This is about how and where I generate content these days.
Too lazy to Google? Just ask.
Quora - Everyone knows something. I guess that should be their slogan. I LOVE Quora – answering, asking – it’s the most useful website in the world. There’s always someone out there who has the experience or know how, to answer your question. Mine.
Facebook on Steroids.
Path – The ultimate rising star. Definitely the freshest app to hit my iPhone lately. You can update your status, add photos, check in…it’s Facebook on Steroids for a closed network of friends. Find me!!
Cool pictures of stuff I’ll never have.
Fancy and Pinterest - It seems like the “deep profiling” apps are taking over. Pinterest is all the rage and it’s shy brother, Fancy is also moving up on my iPhone.
Fancy is more of a glorified shopping list, check out mine.
Pinterest is a HUGE collection of awesome content. Mine.
A good design is all it takes.
Dribbble – If you’re ever trying to design a website or app (which I’m doing half my life) you have to drop by the Twitter for designers. It’s super cool and super inspirational.
Of course I’m also rocking the usual apps such as Instagram, Foursquare, GetGlue, SoundCloud among others.
Well, this has been the longest post I’ve written since 2008. A breakthrough on the horizon? Stay tuned.
